Sylvester Stallone looks like he went 15 rounds with Rocky Balboa and lost a lot of time. "People are always looking for perfection in the people you want us to be on top and stay on top, at least God still loves when you stop" Stallone told reporters.
It would be great to hear those words from him, but it is common nowadays for people to justify their transgressions with the attitude, "Hey nobody's perfect!" It's true. People can expect a human being and that means it is fallible. Unfortunately, very few people really take it seriously enough. In fact, when it comes to their position before God, all that many also take a different position: it can not be perfect, but are "good enough".
The question is are they good enough for God? Romans 3:09 says that they are not. From Paul means when he writes, "are all sins." Paul is also a number of sites in the Old Testament in support of his claims (Rom 3: 10-18). It's not that people are bad to the bone, or he never will any kind of moral good. On the contrary, people are able to influence their actions courage, compassion and fairness. But in the light of God's Holy (morally perfect) indicator, which is the ultimate standard to which we measure the goodness of man. People are very far from perfect. Their good behavior proves to be the exception rather than the rule.
The good news that Paul wrote in Romans, however, is that God made to humanity despite his imperfect ways. His position was not one of rejection, as if to say: "They are not good enough for me", but of mercy and compassion that is, in fact, "I will make them good people, people, as I am, through Christ my Son.
Sylvester, God loves you, even when the press stops, and true brothers and sisters in Christ as well. Take care and God bless Sly.
